Do I really have to wait until December for this to come out? This trailer has gotten me so excited to see this movie! I read The Great Gatsby last year for an English assignment, and it was by far the best book I’ve ever read that was a part of our curriculum. I’ll be re-reading it over the summer to refresh my memory, and get myself even more excited for the movie to come out. It looks so good, what do you guys think?

The much-awaited trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel—The Great Gatsby—is finally here!

There’s no sight of Gemma Ward, who has a small role in the film, but there’s plenty of Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy, and Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway to be seen. Although the setting is New York in 1922, Luhrmann has set the trailer to contemporary music: Jack White’s cover of U2′s “Love is Blindness” and Kanye West’s and Jay-Z’s “No Church in the Wild.” The latter is appropriate, perhaps, considering that Luhrmann apparently blasted Jay-Z while they were filming. Enjoy the trailer here—the film won’t be in theaters until December 25.

Today was a pretty good day. School went by fast for the most part, which is always a good thing. Haley and I both have early release, so we decided to go to Starbucks after school. We both opted for a tazo passion tea lemonade, because it was so hot outside today.

When I got home I watched an episode of Dr. Oz while finishing notes for psychology, and studying. Later, I went out to pick up a salad, and had a yummy meal when I got home. It started raining shortly after, which made me happy, and now I’m relaxing in my bed, sitting with my candle (that smells so good), and about to watch a movie.

Oh, and I’m currently enjoying a lovely cup of tea, which makes my evening complete. Right now I can’t think of anything more perfect than laying under the covers, watching a movie, and enjoying some nice warm tea with my candle that smells like an Anthropologie store.

This picture is a pretty good indicator of how I feel right now…

  • Completely and totally out of it.
  • Tired and drained.

Yes, a quick change into yoga pants and a T shirt was necessary to get me through the second half of my day.

Not much happened today. I drove the kids that I’m babysitting around like a crazy nanny to all of their appointments and practices they had today, which were all scheduled a mere 15 minutes apart. How dreadful. After that was done I came home, ate dinner, and went for a long walk. That basically sums up my day. How so very interesting I know!

Wide Awake

I am wide awake right now, and I have no idea why! I’m sitting on the couch right now flicking between the bachelorette (not really sure what’s going on), and the hockey game. There’s not much else on, and I should probably be reading the Lord of the Flies book that my english teacher assigned for Wednesday, but I’m not.

Today, I made it through all of my classes in one piece (it’s a miracle), and went home and ran for half an hour. I’m so glad I actually got a run in, because there’s rain in the forecast for the rest of the week, which I’m sure everyone living in the Northeast is well aware of. After that I picked the little girl I’m babysitting up from daycare to take her to her swim practice. We found out her swim practice was cancelled so we came back home and I helped her get ready for her softball practice. When her parents got home I drove home and had an early dinner (yogurt, fruit, and some granola), so I would’t have any cramps during my 7:00 spin and abs class.

I left for my spin class around 6:40, and when I got to the gym around 6:50 I found out that there was literally no where for me to park within a 10 mile radius of the gym. Turns out my gym was hosting some district swim meet and everyone was invited in order to prevent me from getting my work out in. After becoming incredibly frustrated I decided to head home.

When I got home my mom and I went for a walk, and upon returning to the house I proceeded to eat anything, and everything with the word chocolate in it, or completely unhealthy, and filled with toxins.

So now I’m sitting here with a tummy ache, blogging to the world about my day. Please reassure me that this is healthy?

I need these espadrilles soo badly, I think I’m in love! And hey, the backdrop isn’t too bad either ;)

Alright, I’m better now. I got my presentation over with the other day, and signed the contract for my graduation party space! I also found out that I got 100 percent on my presentation, which made me so happy!

Last night was also incredibly fun! My friend Haley and I went to the mall and I got a few new pieces to add to our closet for summer. I love shopping, so my day was pretty much made with just that. When we left the mall we went out to get a few DVD’s, and the rest of our night was spent in front of the TV for the most part.

After we got home we made ourselves a yummy batch of healthy chocolate popcorn :P Then we brought a huge pile of blankets and pillows to the basement and prepared ourselves to go through the entire pile of movies (all 9 of them). First we watched Cinderella, and halfway through The Little Mermaid Haley’s brother decided to join us. After that we finished Something Borrowed, and finally fell asleep to The Hangover (not included in the pile). Quite a variety I know!

So that was my fun Friday night in a nutshell! Today I’m planning on taking a run, and figuring out what I’m going to make for dinner tomorrow night when we have a few friends over. I also might be making another quick trip to the mall again today, because I’m regretting not getting the fedora, and maxi skirt I saw yesterday :P I’ll probably lay out for a bit later to get some color and enjoy heat from the sun. So that’s basically it, I hope everyone has an awesome Saturday, and enjoys this beautiful weather!

Oh, and enjoy a few pictures from yesterday’s movie night!

Stressed out of my mind!

I have been way too stressed out lately! Between planning my whole graduation party around my entire family’s schedule, working on a ginormous project that is due Tomorrow, and trying to juggle a bazillion other things, I’m exhausted.

I am so nervous to present my project to my english class tomorrow, and considering it’s not even finished yet I think I have a right to be. My entire grade for the fourth marking period is riding on this presentation, but at the same time I really don’t even care anymore.

Truthfully, I’m done with school. I think it’s safe to say that I checked out a long time ago. With about a week of classes left, finishing this presentation is the last thing I want to be doing, and I honestly don’t even care anymore. That doesn’t mean I’m still not a little tiny bit nervous though. I think anxious would be a better word to use. I want to be done. I want this presentation to be done. I want to graduate and this school year to be done. I want my graduation party planning to be done.

I just want to be done

And quite frankly I just can’t handle this anymore. I want to have time to actually do things again. I don’t want to think about whether or not there’s enough time in the day to get myself to the gym for a measly 30 minutes, or whether I even have enough time to make dinner for myself.

I need more time.

And right now I’d say I’m being rather hypocritical and naughty considering I’m sitting here blogging on tumblr when I should be finishing up my project. Oops! Procrastinating is what I do best, so I mind as well sit here blogging, and repining various pictures on pinterest, because i’m bored, tired, and I don’t feel like doing my project.

Above I included a beautiful picture of two people relaxing on the beach doing yoga poses, which is hopefully what I’ll be doing soon (minus the beach, wishful thinking though ;). After my presentation is over tomorrow, and I sign the contract for the space I’m having my graduation party at I’m hoping things will get a whole lot easier :) Wish me luck!

Here’s a few pictures to describe what I’ve been up to lately:

Today in psychology we watched an inspirational video about a woman named Penny who taught sign language to a gorilla named Koko (Simply Amazing) - Look at this cute little bird who flew into our glass doors! - A picture of the backyard on a beautiful day. - A rose I picked up at church and gave to my wonderful mother for Mother’s Day. - Can somebody please buy me this card? - Look at my new glasses!

Just a few pictures to show you how cute Charlie is! The pictures don’t do him justice though :)
